I’m Tabs! My nickname is Gemma because of my
crystal blue eyes. I love being around people especially other
cats and dogs. I’m 13 years wise and very young at heart. I came
from a family of 25 cats in a large, comfortable catio/house. We all
lived together for as long as I can remember. We ate well and
were cared for nicely. I had 4 beautiful sons and daughters before
I was spayed, years ago. But recently, our owner had to move
and everyone has been adopted into other homes. I watched
them go, little by little. I’m the last one. I heard our caretaker say,
“Tabs is very affectionate. She’ll give you cuddles and loves being
petted. She’s also longing to be around other cats again. She
likes dogs too. She says hello with her chirps.”
She’s right, I miss my feline friends so much. A dog would be fun
to live with too—several dogs came and went through the years
and we always got along. My fosters describe me as “a cool
cat—chill yet awake and aware.” Yes, I do like knowing what’s
going on! And I like chasing shoe strings and other toys. I also
really like having my own space when I need to get away and
meditate. It feels comforting and helps to clear my head. A bit of
yoga stretching feels good afterward. I’m a pretty good eater of
both pate and kibble.
I’m lucky to have a great foster who notices things about me. She
caught me watching t.v. when a cat special was on, all the way to
the end. That’s when she promised me she’d make sure that my
next humans would have another cat, or several, for me to hang
out with. She asked about my right ear and the vet explained that
it’s folded down from a hematoma inside years ago. It’s fine as
long as it can be flushed from time to time and kept clean. She
even arranged for my teeth to get a needed cleaning and now my
entire mouth feels much better!

To my new forever family: “I’m all set for you! I’m a special catch. I
promise to make your heart laugh and smile. And I’d love to be a
buddy to your other cats and dogs. You won’t be sorry!
Come meet your new best friend
