Outside the shelter, Sand Dune truly shines. Heās joined staff on busy trails, relaxed at coffee shops, and hung out in new environments with ease. While the world moves around himādogs passing, bikes rolling by, people chattingāSandy stays focused on what matters most: the path, the moment, and his person. Out there, heās calm, happy, and completely present.
He loves to run, explore, and play (fetch is a favoriteāheāll happily play two-ball and drop it right at your feet for the next throw). But once heās gotten his energy out, he settles in beautifully. At home, Sandy is a total Velcro dogāfollowing you from room to room, napping nearby, and happily curling up next to you on the couch. He bonds deeply, and once youāre āhis person,ā you get the very best version of him every day.
Sand Dune is smart, engaged, and loves to learn. He already knows cues like sit, down, stay, place, here, shake, and touch, and heās the kind of dog who genuinely enjoys working with his person. He thrives with a bit of structure and clear communicationāit helps him feel confident and makes him even more fun to live with.
Like many dogs, the shelter environment doesnāt bring out his best. He can get overexcited in his kennel, but that energy fades quickly once heās out in the real world.
