Sweet, Curious, Outgoing

Meet Betty Lou, a diva of a senior girl who is incredibly sweet and friendly - and unafraid of telling you exactly what she wants! She soaks up all the attention you’ll give her and loves everyone she meets. Betty Lou wastes no time befriending new humans and is a bit of a nosy girl, so she loves to follow her favorite people around to see what they’re doing.

Betty Lou likes to be around people as much as possible and enjoys getting all the head pets and kisses. She’s such a lover that she will literally knock your glasses off headbutting you with love! Even at the vet, she is a total sweetheart. Betty Lou is a bit of a talker as well and has the sweetest crispy old lady meow. Everything from waking up, getting food, or being petted warrants a meow from her! Betty Lou is very smart too, and will come right over to you if you call her name.

Betty Lou has arthritis, which is not uncommon for a kitty her age, but she gets around just fine! She might need a little help getting down the bed, but she still loves to play (in short bursts). She even enjoys going on short walks! She loves her catnip toys (especially the mice ones) and enjoys a good scratch on her scratching post. Because of her arthritis, Betty Lou doesn’t like to be held or be touched near her back legs, but she has no issues with her diet or using the litter box.

Betty is currently taking two daily medications related to congestion, plus one medication to help manage her arthritis. Her foster has found the most successful technique for giving her her medications is by wrapping her in a towel like a burrito. It helps to reward her with a Temptations treat or two - her favorite!

Betty Lou would be happiest in a quiet home either as a solo cat or with other chill kitties. She does fine around the other two cats in her foster home, but she mostly sticks to herself. Given how much she loves attention and being around people, Betty Lou would appreciate living with humans who are home often and are happy to have her hang out near them throughout the day. She also likes looking out the window and chilling on the back patio, so some sunny lounging spots are also on her wishlist!

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
