🥪 Meet Deli Ham — the sweetest little sandwich boy around! 🥪
Deli Ham is searching for a unique foster home. He's not yet ready for adoption, but has had many dedicated one-on-one behavioral sessions preparing him to move to the next step: practice integrating to home and family life! Deli Ham is affectionate, playful, loves treats, and forms strong bonds with people he trusts. We are seeking a foster home to help us learn even more about him, which will ultimately set him up for long-term success in finding an adoptive home.
Deli Ham is a sensitive soul and the shelter environment is taking a big toll on him. His friends noticed his behavior deteriorating to the point where he wasn't acting like the sweet, affectionate boy they knew. He's been spending time in an Airbnb with our behavior team to decompress from the shelter. With each stay at the Airbnb, Deli Ham began sleeping more soundly, which allowed him to regulate more easily. Where he started off more clingy and hyper alert to changes in movement or sound around him, he began to choose independence and self-soothing more easily.
Now he’s ready for his next step: a confident, curious foster who’s excited to partner with our behavior team, continue building his confidence, and help us understand what the right long-term home will look like for this sweet guy. This pup is currently located at our Town Lake Animal Center (1156 W. Cesar Chavez, but use 1200 Reserve Road for mapping purposes). We'd love to show them off to you! To learn more about them, head in any day between 12:00PM - 6:00PM. We are open 7 days a week! Go to Building B and ask to speak with a Matchmaker about fostering this pup. You will sit down and discuss all we know about them and, if it's a good fit, get to meet them then! Please budget for a wait time unless you arrive right at opening as we cannot dictate walk-in traffic (wait times tend to be highest in the evenings and on weekends). If this pup ends up not being the best fit, we have so many other pups in need that we can suggest for your household on the spot!
