Curious • Adorable • Opinionated

Even though he’s orange and white, Gerard operates on all orange. He’s a play-obsessed, opinionated little gentleman with a quirky charm about him.

This handsome boy likely spent time fending for himself outside, so he’s understandably shy. He won’t let you pet him just yet… but he will occasionally settle beside your legs, close enough to feel included.

Gerard is one of the quietest, easiest housemates around. He’s perfectly content if you go about your day while he supervises from a distance. No drama, just gentle coexistence.

He does like to “chat” from time to time and has thoughtful opinions about daily life, especially around meals and play.

Gerard will happily entertain himself with wool balls and coil toys for long stretches. He loves wand toys (string or cloth only, feathers are not his thing), will chase a wand toy if you wave it around, Gerard is also pretty smart, and occasionally enjoys a puzzle box.

What he needs now is a patient, loving home that will let him move at his own pace. Given the progress he’s already made, we truly believe Gerard will blossom into a devoted companion. He just needs someone who sees the sweet, slightly silly boy underneath the shyness and gives him the time to grow.

Gerard has tested positive for Feline Leukemia. FeLV is not a type of cancer. It's a virus that causes a weaker immune system and often a shorter life-span. For the most part, 'FeLVies' are just like any other cat. APA! provides FeLV-related treatment and support post-adoption. He can only live with other FeLV+ cats, but dogs and other animals are just fine! Any questions? We'd love to talk with you about FeLV care.

All APA! cats are fully vetted, spayed or neutered, and have updated vaccines and a microchip. Lifetime support is offered by our Cat Behavior Team.
